Dr. Ilya Kupershtein – An Experienced Spine Surgeon in New Jersey
Dr. Ilya Kupershtein is a highly skilled Spine and Scoliosis Surgeon who has over 10 years of extensive experience in treating the full spectrum of spine problems both surgically and non-surgically. He has trained and worked at Cornell/Presbyterian Medical Center and The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, the world’s #1 hospital for Spine Surgery, prior to moving back to New Jersey where he lives with his family.
Dr. Kupershtein begins care with meticulously diagnosing the problem typically followed by conservative treatment with his goal being to avoid surgery whenever possible. If surgery is required, Dr. Kupershtein employs the latest technology to correct the problem using the most minimally invasively techniques available. “My goal is to educate the patient on the problem that they are having and to provide them with all treatment options so that we can decide together on the best steps to address their symptoms” said Dr. Kupershtein.
Dr. Kupershtein has treated all level of athletes from competitive high school players trying to return to pre-injury level, through division I college players, all the way up to the professional athletes at the top of their sports career. The goal is to find an individual treatment plan that allows patients to maximize their recovery from an injury as quickly as possible.
Dr. Kupershtein has published in top Spine Journals and has written book chapters on spinal diseases and their treatment. He has been elected as NJ Top Docs and has been voted by his patients for “Patients’ Choice Award” and “Compassionate Doctor Award” 2011-2020.
